After completing my bachelor’s degree, I was more inclined to understand how organizations can achieve sustainable performance through effective management. I was particularly fascinated by how private organizations tend to perform significantly better than public organizations. I was also impressed by how private organizations’ leaders spent their quality time planning, coordinating, and motivating other subordinates for effective organizational performance. After doing a comprehensive internet search, I realized that business management and public administration are the knowledge behind better performance in private organizations. Specifically, I understood that business management and public administration not only equip one with effective leadership skills but also the best management skills necessary for effective employee management and inspiration. Having understood the criticality of effective leadership and management, I developed strong desires to advance my career in the management of public organizations. This has, therefore, contributed to my inclination to the field of public administration.

Completing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration has enabled me to understand the criticality of government policies as an intrinsic element in the management of public organizations. My Master’s program in Management and Leadership has enabled me to explore various business management skills necessary for increased organizational performance. The diligence and motivation while undertaking my Master’s degree have enabled me to acquire key management concepts, and I firmly believe that the program played a significant role in equipping me with the necessary knowledge and skills required in pursuing a PhD in Public Administration. My experience in various management fields has also elevated my inclination to the field of public administration. While working as an Assistant Chief Executive Officer at a Local government Service, Ghana, I undertook various management roles such as timely appraising of direct reports to schedule officers and filing letters and official documents. As a Market ad Competition Research Intern at Absolvo Consulting, Hungary, I conducted market research for start-ups, where I identified, analyzed, and catalogued documents and results. Therefore, working in those organizations contributed to the development of various management skills.
Despite the breadth of my academic and work experiences, I feel it necessary to undertake a Doctoral program in Public Administration to broaden my career horizons and expand my expertise in the business arena. Thus, I intend to enroll in the Ph.D. scholarship program at XX University because of the high-quality programs offered by your institution.
